Hello fellow and future homeschoolers, let me introduce you to The Moneá Academy! The place where your favorite boho homeschooling mom creates digital products to help fellow moms simplify their homeschooling journey. From printable worksheets to lesson plans, we create each resource in design to save time, inspire creativity, and make learning fun for your family!
Background
The Moneá Academy was created by a homeschooling mom who believes in the power of parent-led learning! That individual is Karlie Elliott, an author, artist, educator, and most of all, a homeschooling mom! Over the years, Karlie has helped many families transition smoothly from traditional public and private schools to homeschooling, creating a more organized and stress-free experience.
The Moneá Academy is a non-profit homeschool academy dedicated to empowering parents to lead their children’s education. We provide resources, support, and a collaborative community for families who want to take a hands-on approach to homeschooling. Together, we build a nurturing and enriching educational environment, rooted in family involvement and a commitment to lifelong learning.
The “Why” Behind Us
Homeschooling has grown significantly over the past few decades, driven by a desire for personalized education, increased flexibility, and alternative approaches to traditional schooling. Historically, homeschooling was practiced out of necessity or by a small group of families. Now it has expanded into a widely accepted educational choice! Advances in technology, access to online resources, and a growing community of educators have made homeschooling more accessible and effective.
In recent years more families have turned to homeschooling. Undoubtedly, this has some correlation with the COVID-19 pandemic. Which prompted a surge in demand for educational support networks and curriculum options! Many families are realizing that homeschooling offers that great potential for tailored learning, allowing families to align their children’s education with their values, needs, and interests, while fostering deeper family engagement.
Future Goals
So, what exactly is in store for The Moneá Academy? Better yet, what can you expect to see in the coming years?
Currently, it seems homeschooling has been marketed incorrectly as online private or public schools (e.g., K-12, etc), so we want to take back parent-led homeschooling! We aim to be a tool that parents can use while on the homeschooling journey. We want our academy to offer a personalized experience. That includes flexible learning programs, expert guidance, and a range of educational tools! We want to foster growth, creativity, and academic success for their children.
Our future plans for The Moneá Academy focus on expanding our offerings and broadening our reach to better serve families. In the short term, we aim to enhance our curriculum and learning resources by incorporating more diverse subjects, interactive tools, and expert-led workshops to provide a comprehensive educational experience. We also plan to build a robust online platform to offer flexible learning options for families across different regions.
In the long term, we envision growing our community by offering support services such as parent coaching, networking opportunities, and local learning groups, creating a nationwide network of parent-led homeschooling families. Additionally, we aim to partner with educational experts to continually improve our programs, ensuring our academy stays at the forefront of homeschooling and meets the evolving needs of families. Our ultimate goal is to become a trusted resource and leader in empowering parents to successfully guide their children’s educational journey. We cannot wait to meet you and hear your story!
